- Fill in your personal details and verify before proceeding
- Always ensure you get the right curriculum, select the right courses and submit.
With WITS, if you have a flexible curriculum, you need to click the choices button, validate and enrol and submit.
Make sure to submit all of them to the self-portal and get your proof of registration.

WITS Online Registration 2026 Dates
Wits publishes registration dates by faculty and student category. New first-year students must follow the dates and instructions in their firm-offer letter; international students must also complete any required pre-registration clearance.
Online registration takes place through Wits Student Self-Service. Complete the process within the period specified for your programme; there is no universal three-week registration allowance for every student.
For 2026, many returning undergraduate and postgraduate programmes opened online registration on 2 January and closed on 2 February, while other schools had different dates. Check the official faculty schedule for the intended year instead of relying on an approximate 20 January–15 February window.
WITS Online Registration Requirements
WITS has a home self-service platform that enables all local or international students to register for courses while off-campus. All faculties are allowed to register online to ensure all applications go through.
Wits introduced its new online registration process in 2015 to avoid queues and students moving from one department to another.
You need to have these three things before registration on WITS by SMS or self-service by accepting the offer, ensuring all upfront fees have been paid, and the last thing is to confirm you have no outstanding fees from the previous academic year.
WITS Registration Fee 2026
Meet Wits’ financial-clearance requirements before registering. The published 2026 fees rules require the balance of annual fees by 30 June 2026, with category-specific arrangements and approved postponements; there is no blanket rule requiring every student to pay all fees within 14 days of starting.
The published first fee payment is R9,340 for relevant South African citizens, permanent residents and refugee permit holders, credited towards fees. Confirmed NSFAS students, scholarship recipients and approved external bursary holders may be exempt, and eligible students can request postponement. International and online students have different payment rules.
Do WITS Accept NSFAS?
One of the biggest bursaries in South Africa that supports students in terms of tuition and hostel fees. The National Students Financial Aid Scheme is a government organization solely made to provide aid to South African students under their constitution. As part of their policy programs, NSFAs support all institutions across South Africa. In this view, WITS has no obligation to reject funds from NSFAS. These sorts of financial aids are meant to support the institution in the long run and also help with youth development in terms of education.
How Do I Apply For NSFAS AT WITS?
Ever since the introduction of NSFAS in tertiary education in South Africa, application for funds within the NSFAS has been stress-free. You need the right documents and information to put in your application.
To Apply for NSFAS at WITS, you need to visit NSFAS.org.za and click the myNSFAS tab.
Ensure you provide your details to create the account with NSFAS.
- Click the apply button and fill in the sections on your screen.
- You are required to upload all necessary documents for your application to be processed.
- Click submit to complete your application.
Use the official myNSFAS application process and the submission channels currently published by NSFAS. Do not send application documents to an old email address merely because it appeared in a previous application cycle.
NSFAS assessment time varies and can depend on identity, income, academic and registration checks. Track your status through myNSFAS and respond to official document requests; no universal six- or seven-week maximum is guaranteed.
