Step 1: Gain Access To The Web Application
SMU has a complex online application. However, we’ve simplified it so that you can navigate the application process confidently.
Start by going to a website and finding the online application. Since the school’s 2022 application process is officially closed, this isn’t easy to find. However, for the 2023 intake, you can scroll to the bottom of the online application page to find a sentence that reads: Please continue with the application process until the end (by pressing the submit button). Alternatively, you can click here to start with the SMU online application process.

At the start of the web application, SMU will prompt you to verify whether you have a student number in addition to whether you’re completing an existing application. If this is your first time applying to SMU, you will respond ‘No’ to both of these requests.
You will then need to consent for the university to process your personal information as it relates to the POPI act. You can click ‘I Accept’ to continue the process.
You will then need to fill in all your personal information to officially begin the application process.
Step 3: Pay Your Registration Fee
