How to Apply to UNIVEN
Whenever you are ready to apply to Univen, you have the convenience of applying fully online. UNIVEN’s 2026 fees booklet states that no application fee is payable for 2027 applications and gives a closing date of 30 September 2026.
You will need to attach certain documents with your application for undergraduate studies. Scan the required documents and upload them through the current official online application system. Use email only if UNIVEN specifically instructs you to do so. According to the university’s website, the documents that you will need are the following:
- Your ID or passport
- Your Grade 11 final results stamped with your school’s approval
- Your academic record (only if you are a current student at another post-secondary institution)
- Academic record and certificate of good conduct (if you have already studied at a tertiary institution)
- Copy of study/residence permit/medical insurance /SAQA Evaluation Certificate (if you are an international applicant)
- No application-fee payment is required for 2027. Pay study or registration charges only when officially instructed, after verifying the current university banking details.

For 2027 enrolment, UNIVEN’s official fees booklet gives 30 September 2026 as the application closing date. The 2022 extension is expired and is not evidence that current applications remain open.

UNIVEN Requirements
Before you begin your application to Univen, you will need to keep in mind that there are a few requirements that you will need to comply with and be eligible for. There are different requirements for applying for a degree, a diploma, or a certificate to apply as an undergraduate student.
As per the guidelines on the university’s website, if you wish to apply for an undergraduate degree, you will need the following, at minimum, to be considered for application:
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by the Council for General and Further Education and Training (Umalusi), with an achievement rating of 4 (adequate achievement, 50-59%) or better in four subjects chosen from the recognized 20-credit NSC subjects
- A minimum point score of 26
- If grade 12 has been achieved, applicants must have a grade 12 certificate with a bachelor or matric exemption.
As for those looking to apply for a diploma, you will need to fulfil the following requirement at a minimum:
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 3 (moderate achievement, 40-49%) or better in four subjects chosen from the recognized 20-credit NSC subjects
Lastly, students who desire to apply for a certificate must have the following at a minimum:
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi
International applicants should check programme availability, qualification evaluation and immigration-clearance requirements with UNIVEN. The university’s general guidance describes its programmes as full time; follow the specific programme’s published mode of study and current international-student instructions.

UNIVEN Registration
After receiving and accepting an admission offer, meet the required financial and international clearance conditions and register online through the student-access system linked from UNIVEN’s official website. Use your student number and PIN, and retain proof that registration is complete.
